The UN passed an agreement proposed by Palestine calling for all Israeli forces to withdraw from Palestinian territories, including both Gaza and the West Bank. Out of 193 UN member states, 124 supported the proposal, while 14 voted against it. The remaining members were either absent from the meeting or chose to abstain from the vote.
My Take:
- I think many of us are tired of the ongoing global conflicts, and I believe Israel should withdraw its troops from the Palestinian Territories.
- It’s essential to recognize that this conflict started with Hamas. Israel offered peace, but Hamas turned it down. This rejection clearly resonated with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, who has shown that attacks on his country will be met with strong responses.
- That said, I believe Hamas and Palestine bear responsibility for initiating this conflict and are now facing the consequences. However, I also think Israel has made its point, and it’s time for both sides to exchange all hostages and work on a long-term peace goal
